I've
been dipping my toe into guest blogging the last few
months.
• On the Washington Post's Capital
Weather Gang, I filled in for
Andrew Freedman and covered the
top weather of 2008 and
how it was D.C.'s summer rather than winter climate
that helped shift presidential inaugurations from March 4
to January 20.
• In the London Guardian, I mused on
the double-edged sword of using short-term weather
records as a proof or disproof of climate change.
The birth of a website

Greetings! Welcome to my embryonic site, built with the
help of
RapidWeaver.
It's a great, inexpensive piece of software that can
help you create a website even if you have little or no
HTML coding experience. (Software that works is so
satisfying.)
You might notice the style of this site changing over the
next month or so, as I fiddle with its look and
organization. Hopefully this phase won't last long.
I'm planning to post occasional entries related to weather
and climate change. Right now I can't promise how often
these will get written, but I'm hoping to post at least one
every month or so. Stay tuned!
